Zine100, a PROJECT WE LOVE, Launches 1/19/22 on Kickstarter

A smile for the first day of the year 2022: My upcoming Make100 Kickstarter public health zine is a PROJECT WE LOVE at the start gate. Zine100: How Not To Be Colonized by Outreach Programs is a how-to zine on working with people who offer you stuff. It provides basic groundwork for making sure your collaborations with groups with power serve you and your community harmoniously.

Two versions to this zine, my handmade ANDROMEDA Zine100 (shown) and then a slick version from the I LOVE MY HOOD collective, illustrated by them and professionally printed with Radix Media.

This project works on a buddy system at its core: buy one for you and one goes to a community group/member who could put it to good use. There is a limited 100 run on the ANDROMEDA version signed by me, so early backers get this first. The zine is similar in style and heart to my “HOW TO TALK TO WELLI ABOUT GOYA” which was a Broken Pencil finalist for Best Political Zine of 2021. Future Kickstarter goals support more print runs, a translation into Spanish, goodies. It’s also an investment opportunity to fund more public health zines from me and collaborators, so tell your favorite company to join in.

If you’re a community group or member who can benefit from this zine, you have options:

advertise the Kickstarter campaign

consider backing this if you can!

If you’d like buddy copies (free): email AndromedaZines@gmail.com to be put on the list with the name of your group/your community, quantity requested, and email. I’ll notify you if we are funded.

More to share about the I LOVE MY HOOD version. Meanwhile…
